What is Symbian Operating System?

The Symbian operating system was the most popular in the world until 2010, when it was overtaken by Android. It is still used on a handful of Nokia smartphones and devices, but is no longer widely employed throughout the mobile market. The term ‘Symbian download’ is used to refer to any tool, feature, or app which can be downloaded and installed on the Symbian operating system.

How to open a Symbian download

To open a Symbian download, simply navigate to the Download folder and tap the relevant file two times. This quick tap should start the launch process and it should then open automatically.

SISX file format

The SISX file format is used to distribute and install apps and middleware onto the Symbian operating system. As the Symbian OS is no longer in widespread use, it can sometimes be harder to find software which will function alongside the sisx file extension.
